When an opportunity came along to open up a shop in Sunshine Plaza Neil jumped at the chance. Quickly bringing in Stuart Mclean and shortly thereafter Jan Bailey to the fold, Underwood's Queensland was born.

Basing the store around custom designed handmade limited edition jewellery pieces the word quickly spread, with Underwood Jewellers being commissioned by many Sunshine Coast jewellery enthusiasts to create that special piece.

12 years on and the team has grown with Owners Neil Underwood  and Stuart Mclean  at the helm, Jan Bailey Managing the Plaza store and a dedicated team of specialist Jewellers, Designers, Sales associates, gemologists and Jewellery Valuers onboard. Still designing and making classical jewellery is the passion, as well as keeping alive Australian manufacturing skills through both former and current apprentices.

NEIL UNDERWOOD Neil started his apprenticeship at the age of 14. Neil is a diamond and gem setter, jewellery designer and valuer. Neil’s still enjoys going to work every day. Neil likes to step outside the square by helping people find that design that is hiding just beneath the surface and helping them to get exactly what they want. 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE JEWELLERY TRADE

ANN Ann is the manager of Underwoods at Kawana. Ann has a wide plethora of accomplishments. Of paramount importance to Ann is customer service. Ann’s focus and proven success record are attributable to this dedication and her never failing passion for excellence and diversity. 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE JEWELLERY INDUSTRY

ROB Rob trained in the UK. Robs specialty is with opal design and manufacture. Rob enjoys remodeling jewellery to suit a customer’s character. Being a jeweller allows the insight into what can or cannot be N made and what will or will not work, virtually guaranteeing a finished piece of jewellery that the customer will love forever. 22 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE JEWELLERY TRADE

MELINDA Melinda’s passion for jewellery started at a young age when her parents bought her a diamond set butterfly pendant for her 10th birthday. Melinda takes great pride in guiding customers to make the right choice for their special purchase or helping them to create a piece as individual as they are. LINDA Linda's passion is estate jewellery, whether it be talking to customers about the history of their piece or suggesting ideas to restore their piece to its former glory, or even finding a new home for a pre-loved piece. STEPHEN Stephen completed his 5 year apprenticeship in South Africa in 1977. Stephen loves hand making unique pieces of jewellery from start to finish. He also enjoys photography and graphic designing for advertisements and promotions for Underwood's. Stephen is happy when he has a satisfied customer leaving the shop after making their unique piece of jewellery. 37 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE JEWELLERY TRADE

ALLY UNDERWOOD Ally is the newest addition to our team. At the outset Ally's interest was in just having a job but now she is a self confessed jewellery-a-holic. Ally has a flair for stock display and design. Ally is Neil's eldest daughter maker her 3rd generation Underwood to enter the ranks of the jewellery industry.

Underwood's Fine Jewellers have their own in-house workshops, so you can see jewellery being made, repaired and restored. Our in-house workshop deals mainly with repairs, whereas our main workshop offers the security and space needed to work on complex designs and repairs. We have a team of five highly qualified jewellers with their own particular expertise, from hand pierced Celtic patterns to multi stone set rings.

Underwoods Fine Jewellers have a large and varied selection of Estate jewellery from Vesta boxes to mourning rings, chains to diamond rings. Australian prices are world renowned for their competitiveness.
